About Bryce

I'm Bryce Elder, a Senior Mortgage Advisor (NMLS #91030) with Sunrise Mortgage Group, a division of American Pacific Mortgage. Since 2005, I've helped homebuyers and homeowners in Oregon City, West Linn, Clackamas, and across the Portland metro, and I'm licensed in Oregon and Washington. I work with first-time buyers, veterans, self-employed borrowers, move-up buyers, and homeowners 62+, using FHA, VA, USDA, conventional, jumbo, non-QM, and reverse mortgage programs.

There's an unlikely secret to how I do it: a lifelong love of music! I see it as the perfect metaphor to describe the mortgage process.

My clients, realtors, escrow officers, and appraisers are my "band-mates," and a smooth closing depends on everyone staying in tune. That's why I listen first. WE HAVE TO LISTEN TO BE IN TUNE! (Said every band leader ever.) And when the song changes mid-set, like a tricky appraisal, self-employed income, or a complicated credit picture, I improvise while keeping everyone on the same page.

Music may be a universal language, but mortgage definitely is NOT. My calling is to teach my clients the lyrics of lending: every option, cost, and trade-off explained in plain English, so they walk into their loan "audition" confident.

My 20s and 30s were spent playing in and producing for bands, ensembles, and DJ gigs around the Pacific Northwest, and it still floats my boat when I see the light bulb go on in someone's head, whether it's because of great new music or because of what my clients learn.

Reverse mortgages are loans offered to homeowners who are 62 or older who have equity in their homes. The loan programs allow borrowers to defer payment on the loans until they pass away, sell the home, or move out.
