About Gordon

I am a mortgage broker and banker based in San Francisco with over 20 years of experience helping clients secure the best financing at the most competitive rates. I can help you with financing to purchase or refinance a single-family home, condominium, or a 2-4 unit property anywhere in California. I'll guide you through the process with patience and expertise.

My journey began in Washington, D.C., where I earned both a BA and an MBA in Finance from George Washington University. After graduation I moved to San Francisco where I started my career as an institutional investment consultant advising large pension plans on strategic investment decisions. Next, my passion for mountain biking led me to a job with Marin Mountain Bikes managing bicycle production and international distribution in Taipei, Taiwan.

Later, during the first dot-com boom, I joined an e-commerce startup as an operations manager. Working long hours in a new industry was thrilling, but when the company collapsed after burning through $100 million in venture financing, I found myself out of a job. My next move was to Vivid Studios, an early leader in web design and development. At Vivid I worked with startups to help them build their e-commerce platform, blending business strategy with Internet technology.

Amid these career shifts, I purchased my first home—a tenancy-in-common (TIC) unit in San Francisco’s Lower Haight neighborhood. Navigating TIC co-ownership and then condominium conversion sparked my passion for San Francisco real estate. This led me to my final career move: working for myself as a mortgage lender and real estate investor.

Today, I use my financial expertise to help me clients understand how their mortgage will fit into their overall financial picture. For investor clients, I offer my experience acquiring, renovating, and selling multi-unit properties to help them find the best financing to purchase and develop their projects.

I live in Mill Valley with my wife and teenage son. When I'm not originating loans, I take advantage of everything California has to offer by skiing, swimming, hiking, and biking whenever I can!
