Lena was born in Hot Springs, South Dakota and came to Florida via elementary school in Nashville and high school In California (after catching the blizzard of 77 in Buffalo). She has two grown daughters and a grown step son. Her youngest grown daughter was diagnosed with Type I diabetes at the age of 5 so Lena got involved & helped create/bring the local Juvenile Diabetes Chapter to Sarasota/Manatee Counties. Lena and her husband Bob adopted a baby girl who is now 11 years old and plays on two competitive traveling soccer teams. Lena & her Husband are very active in church, helping the homeless and the children in protection with the Sarasota Child protection Coalition through their involvement with Bridge-A-Life. She enjoys gardening, cooking, traveling, reading, and especially watching her daughter play soccer. Her dream is to spend a month in Italy. Currently she is involved with her husbands new Hydroponic Organic Farm in her spare lime called WhatchaEden Hydro-Ganics where they grow leafy greens, organic vegetables and have chickens.
