Kurt Reisig CEO
In 1980, Kurt graduated from the University of California, Davis, CA, with a BS in Managerial Economics. Kurt began his lending career as a Loan Officer and a Senior Loan Officer/Office Manager at California Federal Savings and Loan, and Central Pacific Mortgage in Sacramento, CA. He opened his first net branch, Big Valley Mortgage (BVM) in 1990. As an Originator, Kurt consistently produced numbers that ranked among the nation’s best. Kurt champions Origination and Team Building strategies that are both traditional and revolutionary.APM was incorporated in 1997 and is a Broker Network (structured similarly to net branch companies).

His broad prospective of the industry has resulted in uncanny strategic forethought, which has been paramount as APMC is guided into the future. His experiences enhance APMC’s ability to negotiate for meaningful tools and resources for its affiliates. Kurt firmly believes that the branching environment is largely attributable to the success of Big Valley Mortgage and his personal origination team.Kurt also believes that building relationships is the most important commitment to success that any salesman, sales team or organization can make.

How did you get into this industry and why do you love it so much?
In 1986 while considering relocating from Houston‚ TX to the Sac area‚, I responded to an ad for a loan officer. Not having any idea what the job was‚ I inquired and was hired by the next morning. I had my job and a teeny draw‚ so I quit my job in Texas and came back west.

What makes APM so successful?
The key to the success at APM is its people. The folks at APM understand that serving managers and originators is why they come to work each day. For most managers and originators, this is a breath of fresh air.

What is the best lesson that you have learned about leadership since being at APM?
Leadership is not an activity‚ it is a lifestyle.

If you could have dinner with anyone who would you choose and why?
Martin Luther King because he truly ushered our country towards its potential.

What one thought‚ statement or idea guides you daily (in business and/or personally)?
If you are not moving forward…you are moving backwards.

What would you most like to be remembered for?
Inspiring personal and professional growth in others.
